About the Illustrator
Ian Crowe was born and raised in Arlington, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, D.C. Skilled in drawing from a very early age, he was always found to have pencil and paper to hand. His love of animals became apparent as his drawings at the age of five rivaled those of many adult artists.
As he entered his early teenage years, Ian, taught himself computer graphics and began to do some of his drawings on the computer. While his illustrations for adult books are quite complex, the illustrations in these phonics readers are geared towards young readers. His skill in relaying an entire scene with simple images and facial expressions has a way of engaging the reader in the story and holding their attention.
A published illustrator of over 30 books, Ian is a rising star in the world of book illustration.
