About the Author
Patty Crowe was born and raised in Arlington, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, D.C. Emerging from the save-the-world hippie scene in high school and college, and practicing for a time as a professional photographer, she spent the next 15 years of her adult life working in a variety of non-profit fields and studying everything she could get her hands on. After getting married and raising a daughter and three sons, she turned her attention (along with her two brothers) towards caring for her elderly mother. It was this experience which would set her on a path of study and fulfillment in areas she had not previously put attention to.
Caring for her mother brought new insights into life, death and all the moments which lie in between. She began to see the subject of life, death and aging in an entirely new light and began to realize that the inevitable fact of aging didn't have to mean getting old. Rather, she realized, it is a journey we all travel but one which we have some control over how it will be traveled. It was during this time that she began studying what others in earth's history had to say about the subject and she realized the enormous power of the succinct wisdom of the past. Thus began the series of gift books on subjects of interest to man, The Greatest Quotes Series of Books with the first book in the series, Quotes on the Beauty of Aging. This was followed by Mankind's Greatest Quotes, Quotes on Art and Artists, Quotes on Children and Childhood and remainder of the series, which can be found on this site.
